Every child in India today has the right to free and compulsory school education. About 80% of children go to government schools. Surely, there are government schools which offer good quality education. It is time to challenge the public perception that good education can only be got in private schools. And we need your help to do this…

NUEPA’s 1000 Schools Project invites students, parents and teachers, researchers and informed citizens, grassroots administrators, NGOs and academic institutions – as stakeholders – to share information about schools that work in the government system.

Write to us with the name, location and any other detail about a good school you know. And remember, context matters! What makes a small school in a remote tribal area work is likely to be different from what makes a big school in an urban metropolis work.
